Day 1Arrive in Belgrade

Welcome to Belgrade! You’ll be met at the Airport and transferred to our Hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, the sightseeing tour of Belgrade will take place either today or on the last day before your return flight. Belgrade sightseeing tour includes the most significant sights of old part of the city: the National Assembly, City Hall, National Theatre and the visit to St Sava Orthodox Church. You will also walk with your Local Guide along the pedestrian Knez Mihailova street, Kalemegdan park and Belgrade fortress.

Day 3Plitvice Lakes – Ljubljana

This morning enjoy the walking tour of this beautiful area with the local guide and learn about the unique geological and hydrogeological phenomenon of Karst. The beauty of 16 crystal clear lakes falling from one to the next in a series of gushing waterfalls is the reason that UNESCO declared the National Park to be a World Heritage site. Later we travel into Slovenia through beautiful and varied landscape arriving in Ljubljana, our home for the next two nights. Located in a broad basin between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, Ljubljana has a long and interesting history which will be revealed during our walking sightseeing tour with a local guide. During it we will see the Opera House, Cathedral, National Museum and the Three Bridges Square.

Day 5Ljubljana – Slavonski Brod – Sarajevo

Back into Croatia we stop at Slavonski Brod, known in the Roman times as Marsonia and later as an important Vauban style fortress of the Austrian Empire. Crossing the river Sava we enter Bosnia and Herzegovina and continue our journey to Sarajevo. This is the place where East meets West and the very strong influence of Oriental Turkish culture and architecture can be seen during our walking tour through the Bascarsija, the part of the Old Town where we’ll also have our dinner served at a traditional grill Restaurant.

Day 7Depart Belgrade

After breakfast we transfer you to Belgrade airport for your flight back home. Those who have a later flight may enjoy the included city sightseeing tour before departure to the airport.

Day 2Belgrade – Zagreb – Plitvice Lakes

We make an early start today as we cross the border into Croatia. Travelling through the plains of Slavonia we reach the country’s capital, Zagreb. The city grew out of two medieval communities, Kaptol and Gradec, each sited on a hill and divided by a river long since dried up. We visit the Cathedral and the Open Market called Dolac and see St Mark’s church before having free time at the city’s main square, Ban Jelacic, for further exploration. Later passing through the parts of Croatia affected by the conflict in 1990s we reach the Plitvice Lakes National Park where we stay overnight. Dinner is served at our Hotel tonight.

Day 4Ljubljana – Lake Bled – Bohinj – Ljubljana

A full day excursion into the magnificent Alpine region of Slovenia where we can admire unspoilt nature and two of the country’s most famous attractions, Bohinj and Lake Bled. Relax beside the lakes or enjoy a stroll before returning to Ljubljana for our overnight stay.

Day 6Sarajevo – Zvornik – Belgrade

Today we travel through some very dramatic landscapes of Bosnian mountains passing through the settlements visibly still affected by the recent war and the fighting. At Zvornik we cross the river Drina and return to Serbia. Tonight we celebrate a successful trip at our Farewell Dinner with excellent food and music in “Skadarlija”, the Bohemian quarter of the city.
